openHelp a new troper make a fanfic rec page Western Animation
Not exactly about a trope, but I don't know if there's a more appropriate place to ask. I joined recently, so I'm still getting the hang of the site. I want to make a rec list for a work that so far doesn't have one, but I don't know some things... I have checked out some examples from other pages and read some Administratrivia, but I still have doubts:
Is it necessary to link Sturgeon's Law at the start?
Do I have to put "No-name recommendations will be zapped. Nobody would back up the rec"? I saw it done in all fic recs I've checked out minus two, so I don't know if it's mandatory. Besides, the template doesn't have it, so...
Do I organize them on folders? Do I need a minimum of examples to create a folder or something similar?
Do I have to link to the author too or just the name without a link is fine? With the link to the fanfic, of course.
What kind of fanfics should NOT be put in the page under any circumstances?
Considering the four folders that come in the page template (Authors and Websites, General Fics, Crossover Fics, and Shipping Fics), how can I determine that another folder has to be made?
If you want to leave additional advice, I'm all ears. Thank you in advance.
openIsn't Luz's Titan form in the Owl House count as One-Winged Angel? Western Animation
So in the finale of the Owl House, Luz turns into a Titan to battle Belos. Considering she's not only turning into something more powerul but also isn't human, shouldn't Luz Titan form count as One-Winged Angel?
openDoes this count as a leak? Western Animation
Recap.Phineas And Ferb contains a list of episode titles from the upcoming 5th season of the show, taken from "the copyright records". While it sounds more official than dubious leaks that come from nowhere, since it doesn't come from an official channel should it be taken off the page until it premieres?
openAngry Kaeloo fans harassing me over edits+ Edit War Western Animation
- On the YMMV page of popular French cartoon show Kaeloo, Randomness Unlimited put out a bunch of entries dedicated to bashing the character of Pretty, beginning with this one until the last one.
- Because I felt it was unfair to Pretty and the fact I found a lot of fansnote On TikTok, of all places who actually liked her characterization in season 5, I altered the entries to make them sound neutral.
- Randomness Unlimited not only undoes my edits and reverts the page back to what it was, but they derisively referred to me as a "Pretty fan".
- On top of that, I got a passive-aggressive notifier from another troper named Goat Who Screams for my edits.
Not only is there an Edit War, but it feels like the duo are acting derisive with those who disagree with them.
Edited by skan123openContinuity Nod Subpages Western Animation
I have been thinking of creating a Continuity Nod subpage for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but I am unsure about how Equestria Girls would fit in. EQG has had plenty of nods to the main show which are designated as Continuity Nods on their main pages. Would such references go on a hypothetical Continuity Nod subpage for the main series or would there have to be a separate subpage for EQG?
I'm not sure if such a question like this would fit for Ask The Tropers so please tell me it doesn't fit.
openProblematic edit Western Animation
Blood Red Knight made this entry a couple of years ago on the YMMV page for the South Park episode "The Death Camp of Tolerance":
- The entire issue of people accusing people of homophobia for things they are right to be uncomfortable with is this with Florida's so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill which, while intended to attack teachers who permit sexually explicit material in elementary schools, also requires teachers to out students to their parents.
I'm not sure from reading this what point it's trying to make, but due to how it's worded it could be seen as defending homophobia, and from my understanding the bill is meant to restrict any discussion of LGBT issues, explicit or otherwise, so the entry seems misleading. Should it be cut?
Edited by Javertshark13openPages like Funny, Tearjerker, Heartwarming, etc. Western Animation
Hi there!
My name is firstfullmoonofwinter13, and I have a question. If I wanted to suggest a page similar to the Funny page, Tearjerker page, etc. (idk what they’re actually called), where should I go to make the suggestion?
Hope to hear from someone soon!
openVery irregularly formatted subpage Western Animation
I brought this up in the Ensemble Darkhorse Cleanup Thread but haven't gotten a response yet. While I'm okay to wait for that, I thought I'd also bring it up here since only have of the issue I have is with general cleanup and the other half is somewhat more wiki policy/best practices.
EnsembleDarkhorse.Transformers opens with listing, by year, entrants into the Transformers Hall of Fame. While whether or not that is necessarily fitting for Ensemble Dark Horse is probably more an issue for the thread (with a brand as large as Transformers, determining whether a character is "minor" or "popular" are both difficult to do), that format seems to be... weird.
Edited by LarkmarnopenPage quote change (needs consensus?) Western Animation
Hi, I noticed that the image quote on Hazbin Hotel was recently changed by Cluelessscholar. Normally I wouldn't be bothered with this, but since the show's page is very popular at the moment and receiving constant edits I felt it would be appropriate to gain consensus on whether the new or old one should be used. I sent them a notifier but they have not replied. Thoughts?

Most of M 3 S's The Owl House related edits seem to consist of adding walls of texts critizing the behavior of Amity. Is this a cause for concern?
Edited by ViiraopenPermission to revert an entry on Characters/DannyPhantomOthers Western Animation
On December 24th, 2021, I added the entry Jerk with a Heart of Gold to the character of Mr. Lancer:
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: For all he acts like a Sadist Teacher, he does care about his students and wants to see them succeed in school, and can be somewhat fair at times. And while he has been a Dirty Coward before, he's demonstrated a willingness to jump in and protect his students if need be.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Throughout the series he has been nothing but a narcissistic Sadist Teacher, who constantly displays a Condescending Compassion tone of voice. The only times when he “cares” about his students is when he can benefit the current situation at hand. In addition, whenever he has been “fair” to his students, it usually involves either him playing favorites with the popular students or if he can solely benefit from the situation. And while he has been a Dirty Coward before, he's demonstrated a willingness to jump in and protect his students if need be, if only to realize his way out of depth.
Recently however, on rewatching some episodes where he was prominent, I thought back to this and decided to take the matter here, particularly after putting Lordknightwolf's handle into the search function now available on the Edit History revealed they appear to have an agenda regarding Mr. Lancer, deleting entries that would suggest he is in any way not a Jerk with a Heart of Jerk, such as a Characterization Marches On entry with a heated edit reason, as well as adding him to the Jerks Are Worse Than Villains entry claiming he had no sympathetic traits, which was accordingly changed by generation81.
So, I take the matter here to ATT: Should Mr. Lancer be reverted to a Jerk with a Heart of Gold entry? Or should he remain as a Jerk with a Heart of Jerk entry?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Thunder Cats 2011 have another Image Source outside of Heroes Prefer Swords and Cradle To Grave Character? Or am I remembering something else?
openTrivia page for Potsworth & Company Western Animation
The Trivia page for Potsworth & Company was cut for only having a cut trope on it. However, I wish to recreate it to list a Keep Circulating the Tapes example. Should I do so?
openNot a good example of Shallow Parody? Western Animation
This entry has been bothering me for a while now, and I think I figured out how to articulate my reasonings. In the Western Animation section for Shallow Parody, this is said for Teen Titans Go!:
- The episode "Squash and Stretch" has the Titans watching a Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner parody with parodies of Gumball and Darwin in the title characters' roles, seeming to indicate the writers never watched TAWoG, but wanted to parody it anyway.
My issue with this, is In Wander Over Yonder, there’s a reference to Gravity Falls, but it’s more a parody of Scooby-Doo, yet it gets listed as a Shout-Out.
So my question is, why is it when WoY does a parody of a show that uses the designs but the plot of a different show, it’s considered a Shout-Out, yet when TTG does the exact same thing it’s considered a Shallow Parody?

I'm hoping to upload the poster and at least one screenshot for Once Upon a Studio: Version 2.0. Could you let me know if it's possible to upload images, and if so, show me how? Sorry for the number of questions, I'm just a complete novice to much of this
openRed, White, Blue, and Yellow (RWBY) And plus Miraculous too. Western Animation
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WebAnimation/RWBY
I was about to consider and reconsider this western animation in it too, 'cause they speak and their lips move perfectly (when they speak) English. Their mouths move similar to western animation similar to Sponge Bob, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, My Little Pony, Avatar: The Last Airbender, despite having anime animations like these eyes, the mouths, everything similar in animes just like in Teen Titans (Two Thousand and Three/Two-Thousand Three (2003)), The Fairly Oddparents, Jimmy Neutron, Codename: Kids Next Door, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and so on all western animations out there still. I'm saying I also just wanted to ask you guys on how do you add and put the western animation category in and on the page so if next time I see supposed western animation creations, productions, every idea they made out there. And plus, I also wanted to ask you guys on how do you add "Bang Zoom! Entertainment" as a category on the page on there too as well.

openLinking episodes in Earth designations on What If…? Western Animation
So I’m noticing how people are linking the recap pages from What If…? (2021) to the Earth designation of the variants folders like in MCU: Tony Stark and I think that this is unnecessary because:
- Not all universes have an episode designated to them like President Steve Rogers or the various captured heroes and villains in the Season 2 finale.
- Not all characters debuted in the episode of that Earth’s debut like most of Captain Carter’s Avengers
- Not all Earths debuted in the episode they’re focused on like the 1602 episode which first appeared in the second Captain Carter episode or Sakaarian Iron Man’s Earth
- We don’t really link episode recaps on MCU character pages
- It’s just a waste of bytes in my opinion. Many MCU character pages are under threat of being too long so I think cutting down on these recap page links can quell that even if just a little
What do you guys think? Should we unlink them because I really don’t think they’re necessary.
Edited by MaxyGregoryyyyopenCan "A Day in the Limelight" apply to Anthology series? Western Animation
Specifically, What If…? (2021). Many episodes are centered around MCU side characters (the current season having episodes focused on Nebula, Happy Hogan, and Hela), and not-quite-side characters such as T'Challa, Peter Quill, and Doctor Strange
So, what do you think about this trope on https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/SMBMEveryoneElse?
